YouTube has taken down a controversial episode of comedian Samay Raina’s ‘India’s Got Latent’ show featuring popular podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known for his BeerBiceps channel. The decision came after the Indian government issued a notice, following massive public backlash over Allahbadia’s obscene remarks during the episode.
On Tuesday, Kanchan Gupta, a senior advisor to the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, confirmed the removal of the video on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, “The ‘India Has Latent’ episode on YouTube with obscene and perverse comments by Ranveer Allahbadia has been blocked following Government of India orders.” He also shared a screenshot from YouTube showing the message, “Video unavailable... This content is not available on the country domain due to a legal complaint from the government.”

The controversy erupted after Allahbadia posed an inappropriate question to a contestant during the episode. He asked, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?” The crude nature of the question quickly drew sharp criticism online, with many netizens calling for stricter regulation of digital content.
In response to the backlash, Allahbadia issued a public apology, admitting that his remarks were inappropriate. “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I’m just here to say sorry,” he stated, acknowledging his mistake.
