The construction of the AIIMS hospital in Fatehpur Billoch village, which was originally scheduled for completion in September 2025, has been delayed. The project is now expected to be finished by the New Year.

The hospital management has requested the contractor to expedite the preparation of four rooms to allow doctors to begin consultations, a move aimed at providing better healthcare facilities to the rural population.

Project Background And Details

In 2008, the village panchayat of Fatehpur Billoch provided nine acres of land to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, for the hospital. AIIMS sanctioned a budget of Rs 20 crore for a 15-bed facility and assigned the construction to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD).

Construction work began in September 2024. To date, the basic structure of the hospital has been completed. The current phase involves plastering, fitting windows, and installing glass. The installation of hospital equipment will follow. The project also includes the construction of residences for the doctors who will serve at the hospital.

Facilities Under Construction

- Rooms for four doctors

- Two Outpatient Departments (OPDs)

- A pharmacy room

- A general ward

Benefit To Surrounding Villages

Fatehpur Billoch is a town with a population of 30,000 and currently has no MBBS doctor. In cases of serious illness, especially at night, residents are forced to rush to hospitals in Ballabgarh and Faridabad.

The new AIIMS hospital will provide quality healthcare services to the 30,000 residents of Fatehpur Billoch and thousands more from nearby villages, including Ladhauli, Panhera Kalan, Jawan, Kakdipur, Mandkaul, Shahpur Kalan, Deeg, and Pahladpur Majra Deeg. This will eliminate the need for residents to travel long distances for medical emergencies, such as childbirth, to referral units in Badshah Khan or Sector-3.

Voices From The Ground

Villagers see the project as a major benefit for the community. Jagdish Goyal, a local resident, stated that even with a further delay, the prospect of quality healthcare is worth the wait. "AIIMS building a hospital here is a big deal for our village," he said. "At least villagers will get treatment from good doctors. In critical cases, the doctors here will be able to refer patients for direct admission to AIIMS Delhi."

Recent activity at the site has also been noted by residents. Makrand Sharma, another villager, mentioned a recent inspection by Professor Dr Puneet Mishra, the in-charge of the AIIMS Ballabgarh branch. According to Sharma, the professor "instructed the contractor to quickly finish the rooms where doctors will be seated so that services can begin."

Providing an official timeline, Dr Ramesh Harshal Salve, Assistant Professor at AIIMS Ballabgarh, confirmed that the hospital's structure is complete. "It could be fully completed by the end of December or early January," he said, adding that work is now progressing rapidly indoors. He assured that "villagers will receive healthcare services at the new hospital in the New Year."
