To accommodate the rush of passengers during the Diwali and Chhath festivals, North Eastern Railway will operate a record number of special trains. A total of 122 Puja Special trains will run, completing 2,484 trips to various destinations across the country.

Of these, 80 special trains will originate from stations within the North Eastern Railway zone, including Gorakhpur, Chhapra, Gomtinagar, and Mau, making 1,208 trips. An additional 42 special trains will pass through the zone, completing 1,276 trips.

According to Chief Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh, this initiative is a response to the increased number of passengers during the festive season.

Major Routes From Gorakhpur

Puja Special trains from Gorakhpur will connect to several major cities, including:

Kolkata (Sealdah): 30 trips 

Asansol: 14 trips

Dhanbad: 22 trips

Mumbai (CSMT): 132 trips

Pune: 130 trips

New Delhi: 20 trips

Dibrugarh: 14 trips

Guwahati (Narangi): 18 trips

Jodhpur: 18 trips

Ranchi: 6 trips

Vadodara: 20 trips

Berth Availability

Ample berths are available on most of these special trains on various dates. Passengers can book confirmed tickets to ensure a smooth journey. Berth availability in all classes has been confirmed for the following trains in October:
