A harrowing incident has come to light in the Bilaspur police station area of Gurugram district, where the dismembered body of a child, estimated to be seven years old, was discovered.
Discovery of the Body On Wednesday evening at approximately 4:00 pm, the Bilaspur police control room received information from a resident identified as Umesh from Kalwadi village. He reported seeing body parts lying in the bushes within the green belt of the KMP Expressway, near Udaipuri village.
Following the tip-off, multiple teams responded to the scene, including:
- Bilaspur Police Station personnel
- ACP Pataudi
- The Scene of Crime team
- Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) experts
Condition Of The Remains
Police teams recovered a severed head at the scene, which appeared to belong to a seven-year-old child. A subsequent search of the immediate vicinity led to the discovery of a severed leg approximately 30 metres away from the head.
Time of Death: The body parts are in a decomposed state, suggesting they are five to six days old. It is suspected the murder occurred nearly a week ago.
Method: Investigations indicate the child was murdered using a sharp-edged weapon, after which the body was dismembered. It is believed the perpetrator disposed of the head, leg, and other parts in different locations.
Current Status: The recovered remains have been sent to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Investigation And Unidentified Victim
Challenges in Identification Due to the advanced state of decomposition, authorities have been unable to determine the gender of the victim. The child’s identity remains unconfirmed.
To establish the victim's identity, the police are taking the following steps:
- Questioning residents of nearby villages.
- Scrutinising missing person reports filed at various police stations.
- Investigating the possibility that the murder was committed elsewhere and the remains were dumped in this area.
Police Statement And Next Steps
A case has been registered under sections for murder and other relevant offences. ACP Pataudi, Sukhbir Singh, confirmed that the matter is under active investigation with several teams deployed.
ACP Pataudi Sukhbir Singh said, "CCTV footage from the area surrounding the crime scene and the road is being examined. The case will be solved, and the accused arrested soon."
Police teams are currently conducting an extensive search operation in the surrounding areas to locate the remaining body parts.
