Two wanted criminals were arrested on Friday after a shootout with a joint team from the Gurugram Crime Branch and Delhi Police. The encounter left both suspects and one police officer injured.

The shootout took place in the early hours of Friday in Gurugram's Rajendra Park area. According to police, the two suspects, who were wanted for murder, sustained gunshot wounds to their legs during the encounter. A Delhi Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Vikas, was also shot in the hand. All three have been admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

The arrested men have been identified as Mohit Jakhar and Jatin, both residents of Delhi. They were wanted in connection with the murder of an eyewitness to the Najafgarh double murder case. A reward of Rs 50,000 had been announced for information leading to the arrest of each man.

Police report that a total of 13 rounds were fired during the confrontation. The accused fired six shots, and the joint police team fired seven in response. Authorities recovered two pistols, a stolen motorcycle, and 13 empty bullet shells from the scene.
