The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) is set to brighten the city this Diwali with the installation of 10,000 new streetlights. Preparations for the project are underway, with the work of installing, repairing, and maintaining the lights to be assigned to a private agency this month.
The corporation has identified dark spots across the city for the new installations. Citizens, Residents’ Welfare Associations (RWAs), and councillors have long demanded better street lighting, and with this addition, along with the 6,000 lights recently installed, officials hope to resolve the problem of poorly lit areas.

Residents have specifically requested lighting in areas such as Mayfield Garden, Malibu Towne, Sushant Lok-II, Sushant Lok-III, Greenwood City, Rosewood City, Ardee City, DLF Phase-IV, and DLF Phase-V.
