Due to the effect of a western disturbance, the weather in Gurugram has suddenly changed. Following strong winds that began on Thursday night, heavy rain started on Friday morning, bringing a chill to the atmosphere and providing partial relief from pollution. This morning, the presence of dense clouds created a dark, gloomy atmosphere. According to the Meteorological Department, a further drop in temperature may be recorded in the coming days, signalling a return of winter.
Pollution Levels Drop After Rain And Strong Winds
The rain and strong winds also had a direct impact on air quality. At 11 am, the Air Quality Index in Gurugram was recorded at 225, while in Manesar it was 214. In recent days, the pollution level had been continuously rising due to strong sunshine and a lull in wind speed, but the rain has settled much of the dust and pollutant particles in the air. Experts say that if the weather remains active like this for some time, the pollution level could improve further.

Impact On Daily Life: Darkness And Winter Clothing Return
This change in weather has also affected daily life. Darkness during the day as dense clouds gather—due to the darkness during the day, the speed of vehicles on the roads remained slow. In recent days, people had almost stopped wearing warm clothes due to the strong sunshine, but the rain and cold wind have once again forced them to take out their sweaters and jackets. The feeling of cold has increased, especially in the mornings and evenings.
Forecast: Beneficial For Farmers And More Rain Expected
Meanwhile, this rain is being considered beneficial for farmers. It will provide moisture to the Rabi crops in the fields, which is expected to lead to better yields. The Meteorological Department has also forecast cloudy skies and the possibility of light to moderate rain for the next 24 to 48 hours.
