Under the statewide Operation Trackdown drive launched by the Haryana Police, 183 accused individuals have been arrested across South Haryana within a week. The campaign, initiated by Haryana DGP OP Singh on November 5 and scheduled to run until November 20, aims to nab fugitives involved in recent shooting incidents and other serious crimes.

Rewari recorded the highest number of arrests with 50 accused apprehended. Gurugram, Palwal and Nuh followed, each reporting 28 arrests. Police in these districts, along with teams in Sonipat, Narnaul (Mahendragarh) and Faridabad, intensified operations to track down and capture criminals wanted in cases of kidnapping, murder, robbery, illegal arms trafficking, assault, drug peddling and liquor smuggling.

In Gurugram, police arrested 28 accused from multiple locations over the past week. A history sheet has also been opened for a suspect recently detained in an illegal land-grabbing case, who already had multiple cases pending. The DGP has issued strict orders to identify most-wanted criminals, monitor those out on bail, open history sheets where required, and ensure prompt action against any criminal activity.

During a meeting with senior police officials on 8 November, Singh directed each Station House Officer (SHO) to arrest at least five most-wanted criminals by 20 November and submit detailed reports.
