In a chilling case that has shocked Bengaluru, seven individuals have been arrested and a minor boy detained for their involvement in the brutal murder of a 17-year-old girl, whose body was discovered stuffed in a suitcase near railway tracks in Chandapura, close to Anekal, on May 21. The girl, originally from Bihar, had travelled to the city just days before her tragic death.

According to police, the teenager arrived in Bengaluru on May 18 after being lured by Ashiq Kumar, a factory helper who is reportedly already married with two children. Preliminary investigations revealed that a heated argument broke out between the two on the night of May 20 at a relative’s residence in Bommanahalli. Allegedly under the influence of alcohol, Ashiq strangled the girl in a fit of rage.

To cover up the crime, Ashiq and his associates placed the body in a suitcase and transported it using a car belonging to one of the accused, identified as Mukesh. They then dumped the suitcase near the Chandapura railway bridge.
