UIDAI New Rules From November 1: Starting November 1, millions of Aadhaar cardholders across India will experience a major shift in how they update, link, and use their Aadhaar details. From tomorrow, users will be able to update their Aadhaar details, including name, address, date of birth, and mobile number, online from their homes.
Earlier in October, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) revised the rates for Aadhaar enrollment and amendments, and these changes are now applicable at Aadhaar service centres, including those in post offices.
The UIDAI’s upcoming changes aim to make Aadhaar services more digital, secure, and user-friendly, eliminating the need for in-person verification or physical documentation.
Aadhaar Services Go Digital From Nov 1 With Revised Rates
Starting November 1, the UIDAI will allow users to update their name, address, or phone number online, with details automatically verified using official data such as PAN, passport, driving licence, and other government records.
This marks a significant step towards fully digital Aadhaar services, reducing the need for physical visits to Aadhaar Seva Kendras for most updates.
Revised Fees For Aadhaar Updates
The new rates for Aadhaar-related updates and services came into effect on October 1 and are now being implemented across all Aadhaar Seva Kendras and post office centres across the country.
Here’s The Updated Fee Structure:
- Updating name, address, or mobile number: Rs 75
- Updating fingerprints, iris scan, or photograph: Rs 125
- Biometric updates for children aged 5–7 years and 15–17 years: Free
- Online document updates: Free until June 24, 2025
- Reprinting Aadhaar card: Rs 40
- Home enrolment service: Rs 700 per person and Rs 350 for each additional person at the same address.

Aadhaar-PAN Linkage Mandatory
- The government has announced that linking Aadhaar with PAN is mandatory and every cardholder should complete the process by December 31, 2025.
- Starting January 1, 2026, any unlinked PAN will be declared invalid and cannot be used for financial transactions, income tax filings, or other verification purposes.
- This rule is aimed at curbing tax evasion, eliminating duplicate PANs, and ensuring greater transparency in financial records.
