After the Meghalaya honeymoon case, a couple from Uttar Pradesh went missing in Sikkim. The couple has been identified as Ankita and Kaushalendra, who hailed from the Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. They got married on May 5 and went on their honeymoon in Sikkim on May 26. Three days later, on May 29, the couple went missing after their car met with an accident. The car carrying a total of 11 tourists fell into a ditch amid rain. Following the accident, there has been no update about the couple.
The family members of the couple expressed worries after they went missing. They told Dainik Jagran that the weather in Sikkim was bad. It was continuously raining, and the roads are also cut off. Rescue operations are being carried out in that area, but there is no update either about the couple or their belongings. The governor of the state has instructed to speed up the rescue operations.
The family is concerned about the couple. Kaushalendra’s father, Ankita’s brother and other family members went to Sikkim in search of the couple on May 31. But they had to return as Kaushalendra's father's health started deteriorating.
After the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, the family is fearing any untoward happening, but they are hoping for the safety of the couple. Ankita, the daughter of Rajesh Singh, a resident of Dhangarh Sarai Chivalha Patti, was married to Kaushalendra, the son of Sher Bahadur of Sangipur Rahatikar village, Jagran.com reported. The newlywed couple got married on May 5.
This news comes amid the ongoing investigation into the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, where the husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, was found dead days after the couple went missing in Shillong. The wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, was later traced and found in Ghazipur of Uttar Pradesh. Sonam and Raja reached Meghalaya on May 20 and went missing from May 23. On June 2, Raja’s body was recovered from a gorge with injuries. Sonam surrendered to the police on June 9, and five people have been arrested in this case.
