Ahmedabad-Mumbai Trains Rail traffic has been affected after a segmental launching gantry used for construction at a bullet train project site near Ahmedabad accidentally skid from its position and affected the adjoining railway line on Sunday night, officials informed on Monday. Following the incident at least 25 trains were cancelled, while 15 others were partially cancelled, five rescheduled and six were diverted. The incident affected rail traffic on the down line between Vatva and Ahmedabad stations.
No casualty was reported in the incident, which took place around 11 pm on Sunday at Vatva near here, nor did it cause any damage to the erected structure, the National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) said, as quoted by news agency PTI.
"On 23/03/2025, around 11 PM, one of the Segmental Launching gantry used for viaduct construction in Vatva (near Ahmedabad) was retracting after completing launching of concrete girder. It accidentally skid from its position," the NHSRCL said in a statement.
"This has affected the adjoining railway line in the vicinity. Senior NHSRCL officials are already at site along with police and fire services officials monitoring the situation. No casualties have been reported. There has been no damage to the structure erected," it said.

Vatva-Borivali Express, Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Express, Vadodara-Vatva Intercity, Ahmedabad-Valsad Gujarat Queen, Jamnagar-Vadodara Intercity, Vadnagar-Valsad-Vadnagar Express and Vatva-Anand MEMU.
Partially Cancelled Trains
-Train No. 12009 Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express, scheduled for March 24 will terminate at Vadodara and remain partially cancelled between Vadodara and Ahmedabad.
-Train No. 12010 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Shatabdi Express, scheduled for March 24 will originate from Vadodara and remain partially cancelled between Ahmedabad and Vadodara.
Route Diversions
-Train No. 12478 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Jamnagar Express of March 23 will run via Ratlam-Chittorgarh-Bedach-Udaipur City-Himmatnagar-Ahmedabad-Viramgam.
-Train No. 11090 Pune-Bhagat Ki Kothi Express of March 23 will operate via Vadodara-Ratlam-Chanderiya-Ajmer-Marwar.
-Train No. 15046 Okha-Gorakhpur Express of March 23 will be diverted via Ahmedabad-Asarwa-Himmatnagar-Udaipur-Ratlam.
-Train No. 09417 Ahmedabad-Danapur Special of March 24 will also run via Ahmedabad-Asarwa-Himmatnagar-Udaipur-Ratlam. The railway authorities also issued a helpline number for passengers.
