Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway: Three people killed and two others sustained injuries in a collision between a truck and a car on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway near Nadiad late Tuesday, causing significant disruption to traffic in the area.

Among the deceased are two men and a woman. A 41-year-old man named Jim Phularam and a 14-year-old girl were taken to the hospital, where they are receiving treatment. Police Inspector VB Desai reported that the accident was caused by a sudden tyre burst on the car. The victims were returning to Surat after attending a wedding when the incident occurred.

In separate news, A major road connecting Vadodara to the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway will remain closed for two years due to the construction of a Rs 56 crore flyover by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC). The road from Dumad bridge to Amit Nagar junction via the Abacus traffic circle will be affected. Vehicles traveling to and from the Expressway will need to use alternate routes.

The closure includes roads from Dumad bridge to Sama canal road and from Abacus circle to Amit Nagar bridge. Light motor vehicles can take alternate routes, such as Sama-Chhani canal road to Vishwakarma circle, or travel via Matrubhavan junction and Sherwood junction. For the Expressway, vehicles can use Airport Road or Urmi bridge junction. The closure started on November 22.
