The hospital staffer accused of sexually assaulting a 46-year-old flight air hostess in the ICU of Medanta Hospital watched pornographic content before and after committing the crime, Gurugram Police said on Saturday. The search history on the accused's mobile phone confirmed this detail. The accused, identified as Deepak (25), a technician from Muzaffarpur in Bihar, has been remanded to 14-day judicial custody.

According to the police, Deepak had been employed at the hospital for the past five months and has confessed to the offence, which allegedly occurred on April 6. The victim, on a ventilator at the time, was admitted to the hospital on April 5 for emergency care. She was reportedly too weak to resist and two nurses present during the assault did not intervene.

The incident came to light after the victim informed her husband following her discharge on April 13. He filed a police complaint the next day at the Sadar Police Station, prompting immediate action.

Gurugram Police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) with support from eight specialist units to trace the accused. The team reviewed footage from over 800 CCTV cameras and interrogated hospital staff. Based on surveillance data and staff inputs, the accused was arrested on April 19.

Following the FIR, Medanta Hospital confirmed its cooperation with the investigation and suspended the accused technician based on police inputs.
