J-K Weather: Bad weather conditions disrupted flight operations at Jammu Airport on Saturday, April 19. A video shared by news agency ANI shows chaos inside the airport after multiple flights were cancelled due to inclement weather in Srinagar.

Meanwhile, flight operations were also affected at Srinagar International Airport today. Airport authorities confirmed that IndiGo Airlines canceled three incoming flights: two from Delhi and one from Kolkata, along with their corresponding outbound departures.

“The Srinagar–Jammu flight (6E 214) has also been cancelled due to poor weather in Jammu,” they said.

According to Rising Kashmir, a spokesperson said that several other departures are on hold, awaiting weather improvement.

Rain lashed parts of the Kashmir Valley, including the plains on Saturday, April 19, while a few areas in the higher reaches witnessed fresh snowfall today, said officials. Fresh snow fell overnight on Sinthan Top in south Kashmir and Tulail and Gurez in the Bandipora district of north Kashmir.

According to the officials, traffic on the Gurez-Bandipora Road has been suspended due to the considerable amount of snowfall.

The continuous snowfall and bad weather have prompted the authorities to announce the suspension of classes up to Class 8 in Tulail and Class 5 in Gurez.

Fresh snow was also reported in a few other locations in the upper ranges, such as Mughal Road, the alternate route that connects the valley with Jammu, and Zoji La along the Srinagar-Leh National Highway, according to the officials.
