Air India's server suffered outage at several airports on Wednesday, causing significant inconvenience to thousands of the passengers. The airline's system also went down at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), resulting in long queues and delays at check-in counters. An official at Delhi Airport confirmed that Air India's servers are down, adding that the services will be restored soon. The passengers stated that the server at Terminal 2 has been experiencing problems since 3 pm, adding that the boarding process and baggage drop service got severely affected due to the outage.
“The system isn’t working, so luggage can’t be dropped,” an Air India staff member at the terminal stated. Some of the passengers also claimed that Air India's server had been experiencing problems since yesterday, reported the Jagran.Com.

One of the passengers explained that she had flown to Delhi from Dehradun yesterday and had a connecting flight to Visakhapatnam from Delhi; however, she missed the flight due to the technical issues.
The passengers also stated that the airline started manual check-in for flights to Thiruvananthapuram and Patna due to the software issue. However, they asserted that the manual check-in has delayed the boarding process, leading to inconveniences.

The passengers also claimed that the airline had provided no information through text messages or emails. They also stated that several flights were abruptly rescheduled, resulting in additional waiting times.
However, Air India later released an advisory, suggesting the passengers to stay updated and follow the guidelines. "A third-party connectivity network issue had impacted check-in systems at some airports, thereby delaying flight departures of some airlines, including Air India," the airline stated in a post on X.

"The system has since been restored. However, some of our flights may continue to be delayed for some time as the situation normalises progressively. Passengers flying with us today may check their flight status on https://airindia.com/in/en/manage/flight-status.html before heading to the airport and allow extra time for their journey," it added.
