Ajit Pawar Death: An aircraft carrying Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar crashed at Baramati Airport in Maharashtra on Wednesday morning, killing him and four others onboard, as per Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The aircraft was identified as a Learjet 45 operated by VSR Ventures Private Limited. Those who died included Pawar, along with two more personnel (1 PSO and 1 attendant) and 2 crew (PIC+FO) members.

About The  Learjet 45 Plane

-The crash involved a Learjet 45XR aircraft belonging to VSR Ventures Private Limited. VSR is a major operator in India’s non-scheduled aviation sector.

-Registered as VT-SSK, the Learjet 45XR is classified as a super-light business jet and is recognised for its high speed and fuel efficiency.

-Built for short-to medium-range operations, the aircraft has a wingspan measuring 47 feet and a maximum weight of 9,752 kg

-The company’s operations span private jet charter services, helicopter rentals, air ambulance and medical evacuation missions, as well as aircraft leasing activities.

-Its fleet comprises multiple aircraft types, including the Learjet 45XR, the Beechcraft Super King Air B200, and Agusta 109 helicopters.

-With its headquarters located in Mahipalpur, Delhi, VSR Ventures offers comprehensive aviation consultancy along with end-to-end aircraft management services.

Visuals from the crash location revealed total destruction of the aircraft, with wreckage spread over a wide area while intense flames and heavy smoke rose from the remains.
