Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday took a swipe at the Uttar Pradesh government for blocking the main gate of Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre (JPNIC), refusing him an entry. The SP Supremo said that the saffron regiment had learnt how to block the path by living with the colonial powers and supporting them secretly.

"Whether it is the BJP people or their government, their every action is a symbol of negativity. To prevent the Samajwadi people from garlanding the statue of 'Jai Prakash Narayan Ji' on his birth anniversary like last time, barricades have been put up around our private residence to stop them.," the SP chief posted on X.

The remark from Yadav comes a day after he was denied entry to Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre (JPNIC) on Friday for the freedom fighter's birth anniversary.

Akhilesh Yadav further continued slamming the BJP and accused it of being against freedom fighters and the freedom movement.

"The BJP has always been against the freedom fighters and the freedom movement. They have learnt how to block the path by living with the colonial powers and supporting them secretly. Everyone says today, we don't want BJP," he wrote on X.

According to a report by PTI, a video making the rounds on social media also claimed that Akhilesh Yadav asked a painter to write 'Samajwadi Party Zindabad' on the tin sheets.

In a second post on X, the SP chief criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its governance, describing it as an "extravagant Amritkal of freedom," and called the closure a reflection of the party's "narrow-mindedness."

BJP Trying To Hide Something: Akhilesh Yadav

Speaking to the reporters, Akhilesh Yadav also alleged that the BJP was trying to hide something putting tin sheds at the venue.

"This JPNIC, the museum of socialists, statue of Jayaprakash Narayan and there are things inside on how we can understand socialism. What is the government hiding by erecting these tin sheds? Is it possible that they are getting ready to sell it, or want to give it to someone?," he asked.

He also claimed that he did not go there first time but the leaders and workers of the SP used to go there everywhere pay their respects to  Jai Prakash Narayan on his birth anniversary.

On October 8, the Samajwadi Party notified the JPNIC authorities about Yadav's visit to the Centre to commemorate the birth anniversary of Jai Prakash Narayan. The letter was also sent to the Lucknow Police Commissioner and the District Magistrate. However, the SP chief was denied entry upon reaching to the venue.
