A five-year-old boy who was suffering from fever died at a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh after a compounder allegedly administered a high dose injection to the infant in the absence of a paediatrician on Sunday. Following the incident, the family of the deceased filed a complaint and the medical facility has been sealed till further investigation.
The infant’s father, Lokesh Rajput who works as a salesman in Aligarh said that his child had fever and diarrhoea due to which he was admitted to the hospital for treatment on Friday. Lokesh alleged that his son was recovering well but after a staff member administered a high-dose injection the son’s condition deteriorated even further and he died.
Police have sealed the medical facility and initiated an investigation based on the complaint of the deceased’s family. A senior police official said that further action will be taken based on the findings of the probe which is underway.
SHO Vijay Kumar said that the body of the boy has been sent for postmortem and they are in the process of registering a case against the private hospital.

In another incident, Dehradun Police recently arrested two people for allegedly supplying fake medicines worth Rs 20 lakhs in Delhi. Police said that they recovered about 1.5 lakh fake tablets and capsules during a raid operation conducted in Delhi.
