Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, is starting a direct flight service from Kullu-Manali Airport in Himachal Pradesh to Shri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport in Punjab’s Amritsar from October 1. The flight will operate three days a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with a fare of Rs 2,637 for Kullu-Amritsar and Rs 3,284 for Amritsar-Kullu. The flight will be subsidised for 50 per cent of the seats under the regional connectivity scheme.

The flight will depart from Kullu at 8.25 am and reach Amritsar at 9.30 am while the return flight from Amritsar will take off at 10 am and arrive in Kullu at 11.05 am. The flight will be operated by a 42-seater ATR aircraft. Alliance Air has begun bookings for the flight on its website and other platforms.

The new flight service is expected to boost tourism and economic development in both states. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said direct connectivity to Amritsar, a hub connecting domestic and international destinations, would facilitate access to Kullu-Manali and Lahaul and Spiti which are popular tourist destinations in the hilly state. He also said the government is committed to enhancing air connectivity and setting up heliports in the state.
