Several passengers and crew members were partially injured after Air India flight, number AI-415 from New Delhi to Patna faced air turbulence on Monday evening. The flight became unbalanced due to a strong gust of wind and had to abort landing at Patna airport. The pilot managed to land the plane safely after 15 minutes of circling in the air.
The incident caused chaos and panic among the passengers, who felt the vibration and shock in the plane. One passenger suffered a head injury, while some crew members fell down. The toilet door also cracked due to the impact while the luggage section remained locked, preventing any further damage.

The flight had 122 passengers on board, apart from the crew members. They heaved a sigh of relief after landing and thanked the pilot for his skilful handling of the situation.
The aircraft has been kept at Patna airport for repair and inspection. A preliminary report has been sent to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) while the officials have not commented on the cause of the incident so far.
Reportedly, the flight was hit by a strong gust of wind when it was about to land on the runway which was not detected by the early warning system or Air Traffic Control (ATC). After the turbulence was felt, the pilot increased the speed and lifted the plane up to avoid crashing which is known as land abort, a rare and risky maneuver.
