Madhya Pradesh Elections 2023: Ahead of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday released the state government’s ‘report card’ from 2003-2023 and emphasised that the BJP government in these years have successfully removed the ‘BIMARU’ (laggard) tag from the state.
While addressing a public meeting in a poll-bound state, Shah called Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath as ‘Corruption Nath’ and alleged that in 53 years of Congress rule, the state was known as a ‘Bimaru’ state.

He also accused the Congress of hindering initiatives and welfare schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan when they were in power.
"Congress stopped the initiatives that were started by PM Modi and Shivraj Singh Chouhan. They crippled our 'Garib Kalyan' initiative. On social media, Kamal Nath's government was also called 'Corruption Nath'," Shah said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
Shah also challenged the grand old party to present its ‘report card’ of five decades of rule and said, "If Congress has the guts, let them bring out a report card for the 50 years it ruled the state. We have introduced a culture of accountability in politics. We are accountable to the people wherever we are in power."
The home minister also hailed the work of the Shivraj Chouhan-led government and said that the last 20 years have turned out to be the golden period in the state. He also assured make the state self-sufficient in the field of health, education, industrial development, and agricultural growth in the next 20 years.

He also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government gave Rs 8,33,000 crore to the state of Madhya Pradesh in the past nine years.
The home minister released the ‘report card’ of 20 years of the BJP government during an event in Bhopal in the presence of chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, MP BJP president VD Sharma and state Home Minister Narottam Mishra.
