A three-year-old girl was raped and killed reportedly by her relative in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati. The accused, who is a 22-year-old adult, lured the victim with chocolates to take her to a field on Friday. He raped and killed her, and buried her body in the field.

The incident came to light after the parents of the victim filed a missing report as their daughter didn't return home. They also told the police that the minor was last seen with the accused.

The accused, identified as 22-year-old Sushant has been arrested and the police have sent the victim's body to Puttur Government Hospital for post-mortem. Tirupati SP Subbarayudu stated that the accused had been arrested and confessed to the crime, using the pretext of buying chocolates to abduct the child.

The incident has sparked an outrage with people demanding for justice.

Home Minister Anita expressed deep shock over the rape and murder of a 3-year-old girl. She condemned the heinous act. Where the child was lured with chocolates and subjected to this brutal crime. She lauded the police for their swift action in arresting the accused within hours, showcasing their efficiency. The minister assured the grieving family that the government would extend full support to their investigation and also pledged a thorough justice for the victim.

In another separate incident that took place in West Bengal's Alipurduar, a rape accused was beaten to death by a mob. The girl's body was found in a pond, following which the villagers tied a man, whom they alleged was one of the accused, to a tree and beat him up mercilessly, a police officer said.

When the police came to the spot to get the information and took the accused to the hospital, the doctors declared him dead. A second man, who was suspected to be another accused in the case, surrendered himself before the local police station.

The locals protested against the crime demanding justice for the victim, and death penalty for the accused who surrendered.
