Andhra Weather Update: Moderate to heavy rains are expected in 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, according to MD Ronanki Kurmanath of the AP Disaster Management Authority. The districts where rainfall has been forecast today include: Manyam, Alluri, Eluru, NTR, Palnadu, Prakasam, SPSR Nellore, Nandyala, Anantapur, Sri Sathyasai, YSR, Annamaiya, and Tirupati.
Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Bapatla, Kurnool, and Chittoor districts are expected to get light showers.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph are predicted in certain locations across NCAP, Yanam, SCAP, and Rayalaseema on May 7.
A trough extending from Telangana, Rayalaseema, and South Interior Karnataka at a height of 0.9 km above mean sea level and stretching from East Vidarbha to South Tamil Nadu is expected to deliver moderate to heavy rainfall with thundershowers to the state during the next four days, according to the IMD prediction.
On Tuesday, however, there is a chance of a heatwave in 11 regions across the state, including Rayalaseema.
Meanwhile, on Monday, 45.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Banaganapalle of Nandyala district and Manganellur of Tirupati district, followed by 45.1 degrees Celsius in Panchalingala of Kurnool district, 45.1 degrees Celsius in Vallur of YSR district, 44.9 degrees Celsius in Tarlapadu of Prakasam district, 44.6 degrees Celsius in Ravipadu of Palnadu district, 44.4 degrees Celsius in Gonupalli of Nellore district, and 44.3 degrees Celsius in Tarimela of Anantapur district.
Veerulapadu in NTR district reported 44.2 degrees Celsius, while Peddamandyam in Annamaiya district registered 44.1 degrees Celsius.
