Andhra Pradesh Weather: Thunderstorms with lightning had been forecast on Thursday for several areas of Andhra Pradesh from May 1 to May 3 by the India Meteorological Department.
The Met Department warned that at this time, isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP), Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP), and Rayalaseema.
"Gusty winds with speeds of 4050 km per hour are likely at isolated places over NCAP and Yanam," the department noted in a press release.
It stated that on May 1, 2, and 3, isolated areas of SCAP and Rayalaseema will likely see strong winds of up to 30-40 kmph.

The agency said that on Thursday and Friday, hot, humid, and uncomfortable weather will predominate across portions of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
It said that throughout this time, there would not be any significant variations in the maximum and minimum temperatures in NCAP, Yanam, or SCAP.
Rayalaseema is expected to enjoy a similar temperature pattern, with stable conditions until Saturday and then a slight increase.
The weather service said that lower tropospheric southerly winds are dominating across Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, while a north-south trough stretches from southeast Rajasthan to Kerala.
Vijayawada had intense rain, thunder, and lightning on Wednesday night, which provided a brief reprieve from the intense heat and lowered temperatures around the city.
