Ardha Kumbh Dates Announced: The representatives of all 13 Akharas met with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at Damkothi on Friday to discuss the Ardha Kumbh, which is to be held in Haridwar in 2027.
During the meeting, the dates for the grand religious fair were announced. The meeting was attended by Mahant Ravindra Puri Maharaj, President of the All India Akhara Parishad Niranjani.
He said that the primary function of Akharas is to organise the Kumbh Mela, and the entire country is looking forward to the grand event in Haridwar.
Dates for Kumbh announced
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the role of saints is crucial in organizing the Kumbh. All suggestions will be seriously considered and the fair arrangements will be made grand and well-organized.
He stated that the Kumbh Mela will be spectacular, and administrative preparations are progressing at a rapid pace. Chief Minister Dhami confirmed that the fair will begin on January 13, Makar Sankranti.

Four Amrit Snans for the first time
In the meeting with the Chief Minister, the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (Akhara Parishad) announced the dates for the 10 major bathing ceremonies for the 2027 Ardh Kumbh Mela in Haridwar.
For the first time, four Amrit Snans (holy baths) have been scheduled during this grand festival, which will be held from January to April. This historic decision is being seen as a significant change to centuries-old traditions.

-February 6, 2027 (Mauni Amavasya)
-February 11, 2027 (Basant Panchami)
-February 20, 2027 (Magha Purnima)

-March 6, 2027 — Mahashivratri (First Amrit Snan)
-March 8, 2027 — Somvati/Phalguna Amavasya (Second Amrit Snan)
