Former Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday yet again accused the BJP and the Central government of misusing CBI and ED against him after the Rouse Avenue Court discharged him and 22 others in the alleged Liquor Policy Scam.
After the court verdict, he reached the party office in Delhi, as thousands of protestors gathered to greet him. Speaking to the media, he said that the BJP has misused the term 'Liquor scam' for four years for political gains.
He added that the court freed him, Manish Sisodia and others, as no evidence was found to even have a case in the matter. "Today, the court in its 600-page order has said that there is not the slightest evidence to even have a case in this matter," he said.
Accusing PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Kejriwal said two people orchestrated to finish off the AAP. He added that he has not earned money but honesty. "Two people, PM Modi and Amit Shah, hatched this conspiracy to finish the Aam Aadmi Party. Today, they should apologise to the country....I have only earned honesty, not money..."
He further challenged the two leaders to hold fresh elections in Delhi as AAP suffered a humiliating defeat in the 2025 polls. He dared that if the BJP wins over 10 seats, he will leave politics. "I challenge PM Modi to hold fresh polls in Delhi, if BJP wins over 10 seats, I will quit politics," Kejriwal said.
The Rouse Avenue Court on Friday delivered a sharp rebuke to CBI, stating that it failed to substantiate its allegations against Kejriwal, Sisodia and others with credible evidence.
The court ruled that CBI's claims of a larger conspiracy and criminal intent did not stand up to judicial scrutiny.
The court also expressed displeasure over the 'South Group' categorisation, which was linked to K Kavitha.
