Arvind Kejriwal News: The Delhi High Court is set to announce its verdict on Tuesday regarding Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest in connection with the alleged excise scam. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma will deliver the order at 2:30 PM today. Kejriwal, who is currently in Tihar jail in a money laundering case, has also challenged his subsequent remand in Enforcement Directorate custody.

The AAP national convener questions the timing of his arrest, citing violations of constitutional principles such as democracy and free and fair elections. The ED argues that Kejriwal cannot claim "immunity" from arrest on the grounds of upcoming elections as the law is applied equally to him and the common people.

Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 after the high court denied him protection from coercive action by the ED. He was remanded to judicial custody till April 15. The case involves allegations of corruption and money laundering related to the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22, which was later scrapped.

BJP Trying To Bring Delhi Under President’s Rule, Says AAP

In a fiery session of the Delhi Assembly on Monday, AAP legislators levelled allegations against the BJP, accusing them of orchestrating a move to impose President's rule in the national capital following Kejriwal's arrest. Madan Lal, AAP MLA from Kasturba Nagar, asserted during a discussion on "attempts to unconstitutionally impose President’s Rule in Delhi," claimed the BJP was trying to force Kejriwal to resign after his arrest.

"An emergency-like situation has been created in Delhi where the L-G (VK Saxena) is saying he will not allow Kejriwal to run the government from jail," he said as quoted by news agency PTI.
