Assam Police arrested 15 people across the state for posting “offensive” content on social media related to the Delhi Red Fort blast that claimed 13 lives and injured several others on Monday (Nov 10) around 6 PM, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday.

"In connection with the offensive social-media posts following the Delhi blasts, 15 persons have been arrested across Assam so far. Assam Police remains uncompromising against those who glorify violence,” CM said.

According to the Chief Minister’s post, the 15 accused have been identified as Rafijul Ali (Bongaigaon), Forid Uddin Laskar (Hailakandi), Inamul Islam (Lakhimpur), Firuj Ahmed @ Papon (Lakhimpur), Shahil Shoman Sikdar @ Shahidul Islam (Barpeta), Rakibul Sultan (Barpeta), Nasim Akram (Hojai), Taslim Ahmed (Kamrup), and Abdur Rohim Mollah @ Bappy Hussain (South Salmara), Sarma posted on X.

This comes after the Chief Minister said on Wednesday that the administration is determined to apprehend those supporting terrorism.

"We will catch those who support terrorists and will take action against them. These people are trying to deteriorate the situation in Assam," he told reporters.

Delhi Red Fort Car Blast 

1. Intelligence agencies revealed a larger terror conspiracy linked to the deadly Red Fort car blast that killed 13 people, indicating plans to prepare two old vehicles with explosives for coordinated attacks at multiple locations.

2. Investigators found that the accused had already begun modifying a Hyundai i20 and a Ford EcoSport for potential use in future explosions.

3. It later emerged that two additional old vehicles were also being readied to be fitted with explosives as part of the broader serial blast plan.

4. Around eight suspects were allegedly involved in the plot, divided into pairs to target four different cities with coordinated explosions.

5. Each pair was supposed to carry multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs) for simultaneous attacks across locations.

6. Among those under investigation are individuals connected to past terror cases, including Red Fort blast accused Dr Muzammil, Dr Adeel, Dr Umar, and Shaheen.

7. Forensic DNA tests confirmed that Dr. Umar Un Nabi, whose body was found in the exploded i20 near Red Fort, was the bomber, as his DNA matched samples taken from his mother.
