Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj made shocking revelations after AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal was attacked on Saturday in Delhi's Greater Kailash area during his padyatra. Bharadwaj claimed that the attacker was linked to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and attempted to burn Kejriwal alive as he had a matchbox in hand and the liquid which he splashed on the former chief minister was spirit.

In a video posted by news agency ANI, a man could be suddenly seen throwing a liquid at the AAP chief during the padyatra. However, he was overpowered by the security personnel with Kejriwal.

"AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal held a 'padyatra' in Savitri Nagar area of Greater Kailash. People in huge numbers, including women, elderly, children, came to meet him. Arvind ji was meeting everyone when suddenly a man threw spirit at him and tried to burn him alive... This is a serious matter. Since Arvind Kejriwal launched his 'padyatra', BJP can sense its defeat in the (Delhi) Assembly elections for a third time, which is why they are now conspiring against him," said Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on the alleged attack on Arvind Kejriwal.

AAP also shared a picture on social media to support their claim that the attacker was linked to the BJP.

"BJP leaders carry our rallies in all states, they are never attacked... There are continuous attacks on Arvind Kejriwal... BJP attacked him in Nangloi. He was attacked in Chhatarpur... The law and order in Delhi have collapsed and the central government and the Home Minister are not doing anything..." Bharadwaj told ANI.
