Bengaluru Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put Bengaluru on a yellow alert as the city is likely to witness wet weather over the next few days, while eight Karnataka districts, including Chikmagalur, Chamarajanagar, Udupi, Belgaum, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Kodagu, and Shimoga, have been put under an orange alert for heavy rains and thundershowers from Sunday to Tuesday (December 1 to December 3) under the effect of Cyclone Fengal.

Interior regions of Karnataka, including Bengaluru will witness heavy rain as Cyclone Fengal approaches the North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast.

About Cyclone Fengal

Cyclone Fengal is expected to cross the North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram by Saturday afternoon. The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) reported that the storm is moving west-northwestward over the Southwest Bay of Bengal with wind speeds of 70-80 kmph and gusts reaching up to 90 kmph.

Bengaluru Forecast

Bengaluru is expected to experience very light rainfall over the next 24 hours, with temperatures remaining cool. Saturday's average temperature is predicted to be around 20.6°C. On Sunday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 24.6°C, while the minimum will hover near 19.9°C.

Rainfall Alerts for Karnataka

The cyclonic weather has prompted predictions of widespread moderate rain with occasional thundershowers across southern interior Karnataka on Saturday. Heavy rainfall is expected on Sunday and Monday in these regions, according to the KSNDMC.

The northern interior districts of Karnataka are likely to experience moderate rainfall during the coming week.

Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious and stay updated through official weather alerts as Cyclone Fengal brings widespread rainfall to Karnataka.
