Atul Subhash Suicide Case: Soon after the Supreme Court rejected Atul Subhash's family's petition for child custody, a residential school in Faridabad has written to Bengaluru police saying the four-year-old is residing with them. The parents of Bengaluru-based IT professional Atul Subhash, who died by suicide in December, have been trying in vain to get his child's custody. The paternal grandparents have said that they fear for the boy's safety.
Amid questions over the child's whereabouts, Satyug Darshan Vidyalaya, a residential school in Faridabad, said Atul Subhash and Nikita Singhania's son was staying with them during the ongoing winter break. The school said no one from the family came to collect the four-year-old boy. In a letter to the Bengaluru Police, school principal Dr Arun Kumar Sharma, said arrangements have been made for the child's stay at the hostel during the holiday period.
The letter, written in regards with the investigation being conducted by the Marathahalli police station, was addressed to the police sub-inspector, News18 reported. The Bengaluru Police had previously sought a response from the school. As proof, the school also attached the child's official documents, including his admission form.

In the document, Nikita Singhania identified herself as a single mother and declared that she is the sole guardian of her child. She left the section for the father's details blank. The document also notes that her son is currently living in a hostel and has been admitted to the nursery class at the school. Nikita personally handled the entire admission process for her son.
Atul Subhash's Parents Seek Child Custody
On Monday, the Supreme Court rejected the plea filed by grandmother Anju Devi, saying the child was unfamiliar with her. “He doesn’t know you at all. You are virtually a stranger to the child. You have no familiarity with him,” the court said.
Subhash’s father, Pawan Kumar Modi, has since raised concerns about the safety of his grandson. “My grandson was an ATM for her. She took money from us, claiming it was for his care. Initially, she approached the High Court demanding Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000. After her appeal for Rs 80,000 was granted, she continued to ask for more money. Therefore, we have approached the Supreme Court for custody of the child, as he will be safe with us," Pawan Kumar Modi said.

Atul Subhash Case Summary: All You Need To Know
Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash died by suicide on December 9, 2024, alleging torture by his wife Nikita Singhania. The 34-year-old man left behind video and written notes alleging harassment by his estranged wife and her family. Following his death, Nikita and her in-laws were arrested on charges of abetting his suicide but were later released on conditional bail.
Subhash’s brother, Vikas Kumar, filed a police complaint at the Marathahalli police station, accusing Nikita and her family of instigating the suicide. In his complaint, Vikas alleged that the accused had filed false cases against Subhash and demanded Rs 3 crore to settle the disputes. He also claimed that Subhash was publicly taunted during court proceedings, where the accused reportedly told him he must either pay Rs 3 crore or end his life.
Meanwhile, Nikita’s family countered the allegations, accusing Subhash of demanding a substantial dowry, which they claim contributed to her father’s death.
