According to the police, the incident occurred in the Manjunath Layout area, which falls under the Marathahalli police station limits. According to the preliminary probe, Subhash had been facing marital discord with his wife, and she had registered a case against him in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said. He also sent his death note through email to several people and also shared it with a WhatsApp group of an NGO he was associated with.
Meanwhile, a video has gone viral on social media of Atul where he could be heard explaining everything. He began the video by introducing himself. "Hello world, my name is Atul Subhash. I am almost 34 years old. I live in Bangalore. Today, I am going to commit suicide. I believe that it is best for me to kill myself. Because I am making my enemy stronger with the money I am earning. The same money is being used to destroy me. And this cycle will continue to increase."
He added, "With my taxes, this court, this police system, will harass me and my family and other good people as well. So, we should end the supply of value. And anyway, they gave me a suggestion. They told me to commit suicide. And I think they are right. That's the right solution, what they have suggested me. So, I am going to kill myself."
He added, "My wife and her family should not come near me. Thirdly, my identity should not be revealed until my harassers get punished. So, my identity should not be revealed. Even after all these things, evidence, and everything, if the court does not punish the judge and my other harassers, and releases them, then my identity should be thrown out of the court in a gutter. So that I know that I should continue to learn my lesson that what is the value of a life in this country. So, this is one thing. And I will talk to my parents and brothers separately. If possible, forgive me. At the age when I had to support my parents, at that age, I am hurting them forever."
