Bank Holidays: The Banks across India are going to observe a 4-day holiday week from August 11 to 17. During the whole week, there are only three working days left, and today (Monday), only two are left for customers to get their important banking work done.
The month of August has a total of 15 listed holidays, out of which four are falling this week. While a few are regional, most of them will be observed across the nation. The bank will remain open on Tuesday and Thursday from the days left this week.
These bank holidays are generally declared by the RBI before the start of the financial year. However, some individual state governments also declare holidays for the entities operating there based on their culture and tradition.

Although the banks will remain close on these days, online banking servcies like mobile banking, net banking, and UPI, among others will be operational. For ATMs, there is no official closure but the bank holidays, especially during the long weekend, are likely to prompt disruptions at some places.
