Bank Holiday: Several banking services are expected to be impacted this month due to a series of holidays observed across different states. Customers are advised to plan their banking activities in advance to avoid inconvenience.

As per the official holiday calendar both public and private banks will remain closed for three consecutive days this week in various regions:

8 August: Banking services will be unavailable in Sikkim and Odisha on account of the Tendong Lho Rum Faat festival.

9 August: A large number of banks in central India, including those in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, and Rajasthan, will remain closed due to Raksha Bandhan.

10 August: Being a second Saturday, this day will be a scheduled weekend holiday for most banks.

August Bank Holiday Calender 

In the following week, further closures are scheduled:

13 August: Banks in Manipur will observe a holiday on Patriot Day.

15 August: Banks across all states and union territories will remain closed due to Independence Day, a national public holiday.

16 August: Banks in several states will remain shut for Janmashtami. Separately, Gujarat and Maharashtra will observe a bank holiday for Parsi New Year.

Additional state-specific closures later in the month include:

26 August: Karnataka and Kerala will observe a holiday for Ganesh Chaturthi.

27 August: Banks will remain closed in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana for the same festival.

28 August: Odisha, Punjab, and Sikkim will observe a bank holiday for Nuakhai.

Customers are encouraged to consult their respective bank branches or visit the official Reserve Bank of India (RBI) website for region-specific holiday updates.
