In view of the Kanwar Yatra and route diversion planned for the last Monday of the Shravan month, District Magistrate Prem Ranjan Singh has declared a holiday for all schools from Class 1 to 12 in Etah. District Inspector of Schools, Indrajeet, announced the holiday on Monday, August 4, and directed all schools, including those affiliated with the CBSE and Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, to comply with the instructions.
Ancient Shiva Temple Attracts Devotees
The ancient Shiva temple, adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures, is a revered site for devotees in the district. The temple complex features idols of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha, Kartikeya, Nandi, and Hanuman, as well as a grand Durga shrine. During the Shravan month and Mahashivratri, the temple witnesses a large influx of devotees.
Unique Features Of The Temple
The temple's architecture is notable for its brick and lime construction, with the upper dome featuring various forms of Lord Shiva and Parvati. The temple is home to the fourth-oldest and most ancient Shivling in the region, as well as an ancient idol of Hanuman. Devotees believe that worshipping at this temple with proper rituals can grant them the blessings of Lord Shiva and Hanuman.
Special Prayers And Events
During the Shravan month, devotees perform special puja, Rudrabhishek, and bhajans to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. The temple is a hub of spiritual activity, with devotees gathering to sing devotional songs and perform rituals.
