At least three people were killed after a speeding Maruti Suzuki Brezza coming from the Bareilly side on the Bareilly-Jaipur highway rammed into a tractor-trailer loaded with soil. The victims, all friends from Jalalabad in Shahjahanpur district, were travelling to Vrindavan for darshan. One survivor remains in critical condition.
Rajan Gupta, a resident of Katra Road in Jalalabad, along with his friends Nikunj Gupta, Saurabh Verma, and Raja Bhardwaj from Nosara, had left for Vrindavan around 9 pm in the Brezza. Around 2 am, their car crashed into a soil-laden tractor-trailer near Keshavpur village on the Bareilly-Jaipur highway.
Rajan Gupta died on the spot whereas Nikunj, Saurabh, and Raja were rushed to Agra in critical condition, where Nikunj and Saurabh succumbed to their injuries. Raja continues to receive treatment and remains critical.
Raya police station in-charge Ravibhushan Sharma said the accident site was poorly lit, and the Brezza collided with the tractor-trailer from behind as it moved ahead on the highway.
In a separate incident, Six people were killed on Sunday after their car plunged into a 600-foot gorge in the Saptashring Garh Ghat area of Nashik’s Kalwan taluka. The accident occurred around 4 pm, and all the victims, residents of Pimpalgaon Baswant in Niphad taluka, died on the spot.
The Toyota Innova, which was carrying seven passengers, was completely crushed in the fall. The deceased were identified as Kirti Patel (50), Raseela Patel (50), Vitthal Patel (65), Lata Patel (60), Vachan Patel (60), and Maniben Patel (70).

Rescue operations are being overseen by Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil, with teams from the police department and the district disaster management committee deployed at the site. Resident deputy collector and District Disaster Authority CEO Rohitkumar Rajput confirmed that efforts to recover the vehicle and assist the lone survivor are still underway.
