Bengal Weather:  West Bengal is one of 18 states that have received rain alerts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), with rainfall expected to last till March 15. Two cyclonic circulations, one from Bangladesh and one from Iraq, are related to the weather shift and are moving towards India, offering much-needed respite from the increasing heat.

Rain is expected for Delhi-NCR and the neighbouring areas as the first cyclone, which originated in Iraq, moves towards northern India. According to an HT report, the second cyclone is moving in from neighbouring Bangladesh and is expected to bring rain to states in the east and northeast, including West Bengal. Kolkata might also face rainfall due to the impact of the cyclone.

Northeastern provinces including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Tripura are predicted to see rains between March 11 and 15, while eastern states like Bihar and West Bengal are also anticipated to get significant rainfall. During this time, Arunachal Pradesh can also get a lot of snowfall.

While Rajasthan is predicted to get showers from March 13 to 15, Punjab and Haryana can see rain, thunderstorms, and lightning on March 12 and 13.

Rain Alert Across Southern States

Four Tamil Nadu districts in southern India are on high alert for Tuesday's torrential rains. If the situation worsens, the state administration has warned that universities and institutions would have to close. Heavy rain is also forecast for Kerala and Mahe between March 11 and 13.

As the cyclonic systems deliver widespread rains across the nation, residents in these areas are encouraged to keep informed about IMD advisories and take the appropriate safety measures.
