Bengal Weather: The weather in West Bengal is set to change due to the formation of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. According to the Alipore Meteorological Department’s forecast, scattered rainfall is expected across most districts of the state. Light to moderate rain is anticipated on Wednesday and Thursday, with rainfall intensity increasing in South Bengal from Friday onward.
Heavy rain is possible in Purulia, Bankura, West Burdwan, and Birbhum districts, where wind speeds may range between 30 and 50 km/h. In contrast, Kolkata and its surrounding areas are expected to experience light to moderate rain, but wind gusts will remain relatively mild.
North Bengal, including Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, and Cooch Behar, is also likely to receive rainfall over the weekend, with thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 km/h.
