Bengal Weather: Rain activity across West Bengal is expected to decrease from Thursday. As per the Meteorological Department, the weather will mainly remain dry in the districts of South Bengal from May 8 to May 11. On May 12, there is a possibility of scattered light rain in Murshidabad, Nadia, 24 Parganas and two Midnapore districts. On May 13, there is a possibility of light rain in some districts of Gangetic West Bengal. From May 8 to May 11, some districts of the Gangetic part of South Bengal will see humid and uncomfortably hot conditions.
The East-West trough now runs from Southwest Rajasthan to North Jharkhand across cyclonic circulation over Northwest Madhya Pradesh, East MP, North Chhattisgarh at 0.9 km above mean sea level. Southwest monsoon is very likely to advance into the South Andaman Sea, some parts of Southwest Bay of Bengal and Nicobar Islands around May 13, stated IMD.
South Bengal Weather
On May 8, intense heat is likely in four districts - West Burdwan, Purulia, Jhargram, West Medinipur. On May 9, there is a possibility of a heatwave in these districts of West Burdwan, Purulia, Bankura, West Medinipur, Jhargram.
On May 10, heatwaves are likely in these districts: Birbhum, West Burdwan, Purulia, Bankura, Jhargram, West Medinipur. There is a possibility of a heatwave in Malda district in the north on this day.
On May 11, heatwave conditions are also expected in Malda in the north and Birbhum, West Burdwan, Purulia, Bankura, Jhargram and West Midnapore districts of South Bengal. Extremely uncomfortably hot weather will continue in Howrah, Hooghly, Kolkata and Midnapore.

North Bengal Weather
Rain activity in North Bengal shall only occur after Sunday, May 11. On Sunday, moderate to heavy rain with thunder is likely in certain districts of North Bengal.
Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri will receive more rain. Light rainfall is expected in Darjeeling and Kalimpong. Extremely uncomfortable humid heat in the plain districts in the north.
