Bengal Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a two-day rain alert in Kolkata for Sunday and Monday, July 13 and 14. Rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in the city of joy during the two days. Gusty winds may blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour. Similar conditions will prevail in other South Bengal districts. Heavy rain is likely in South 24 Parganas, East Medinipur, West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura on Sunday. The IMD has issued no warning for fishermen.

The low pressure area has weakened because of which the intensity of the rain has decreased. However, the cyclone is still active over the Ganges-Bengal region. As a result, rain will continue in different districts for the next few days.

North Bengal Weather
Heavy rains are expected in Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Cooch Behar and Alipurduar from Sunday, July 13. There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in the remaining districts. Showers are expected to continue till Wednesday.
South Bengal Weather
July 11 And 12: Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at many places over all the districts of South Bengal.
July 13: Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at most places over all the districts of South Bengal
July 14: Heavy Rainfall (7-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Purulia, North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas districts of South Bengal.
