Bengal Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain and thunderstorms across South Bengal districts, including Kolkata from Navami, October 1. As per the weather body, a cyclone is likely to form in the North Andaman Sea on Ashtami, Tuesday. This is expected to intensify into a low-pressure area on Wednesday.
Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail on Thursday, Dashami. Heavy rain will lash Howrah, Hooghly, Kolkata, 24 Parganas and Midnapore. An advisory has been issued for fishermen on Thursday and Friday in view of rough seas.
On Sashti, that is Monday, Kolkata will see no rain activity. However, there is a possibility of scattered light rain at some places. South Bengal districts will also remain dry on Monday.

North Bengal Weather
September 29: Lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at one or two places over Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Jalpaiguri districts of North Bengal.
September 30: Lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at one or two places over Malda, North and South Dinajpur, Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri districts of North Bengal.
October 1: Light to moderate rain/thundershower are very likely to occur at many places over the districts with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty wind very likely to occur at one or two places over all the districts of North Bengal.
October 2: Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts with heavy rain very likely to occur at one or two places over Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts of North Bengal.
October 3: Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at most places with heavy to very heavy rain very likely to occur at one or two places Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Coochbehar districts of North Bengal; heavy rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malda, North and South Dinajpur districts of North Bengal.
October 4: Light to moderate rain/thundershowers is very likely to occur at most places with heavy rain very likely to occur at one or two places over Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Coochbehar districts of North Bengal.
