Team India pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s removal of Haris Rauf during India's Asia Cup final clash against Pakistan in Dubai was hailed by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, who posted a screengrab of Bumrah's precise off-stump yorker and his gesture after that, captioning the image - "Pakistan deserves this punishment."

Jasprit Bumrah celebrated the dismissal of Haris Rauf with a distinctive celebration, mimicking the motion of a fighter jet descending. Bumrah's animated celebration, where he mocked a fighter jet's movement, seemed to be a pointed reference to Haris Rauf, reflecting a similar gesture the Pakistan pacer had made earlier in their Super 4 encounter.

A massive controversy sparked after the game as the presentation ceremony got delayed by about an hour after the Pakistan team refused to step out of the dressing room after their third straight defeat against the archrivals. Apart from this, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia upheld the team's decision, explaining that India couldn't take the trophy from someone "who happens to be one of the main leaders of Pakistan."

Meanwhile, PM Modi extended his warmest congratulations to Team India on winning the Asia Cup 2025 final and lifting the trophy.

PM Modi took to his official X account and aptly depicted India's stellar performance as "Operation Sindoor on the games field."

"#OperationSindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same - India wins! Congrats to our cricketers," PM Modi posted on X.
