Bengal Weather: According to the Alipore Meteorological Department, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are likely in multiple South Bengal districts on Wednesday. Meanwhile, heavy rain will continue in North Bengal districts. Kolkata saw cloudy weather conditions on Wednesday. The minimum temperature in the city was recorded 25 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees below normal. Kolkata is expected to witness a few showers on Wednesday.

South Bengal Weather

Scattered light to moderate rain will occur in all South Bengal districts on Wednesday. There is a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in eight districts. The weather body has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning in 24 Parganas, West and East Midnapore, Purulia, Bankura, East Burdwan and West Burdwan. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of 30-40 kmph.

North Bengal Weather

Heavy rain (7 to 11 cm) and thunderstorms are expected in five North Bengal districts including - Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Alipurduar and Uttar Dinajpur on Wednesday. The rain will subside on Thursday and Friday. Over the weekend, heavy rain will resume in North Bengal districts including - Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar. Light to moderate rain will occur sporadically in the remaining northern districts throughout the week.

Bengal Weather In Last 24 Hours

Light to moderate rainfall occurred at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over Nadia, Purulia, Birbhum, West Midnapore, Murshidabad and Bankura districts of South Bengal. Very light to moderate rainfall occurred at most places over North Bengal with heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Malda, Alipurduar and Darjeeling districts of North Bengal.
