Bengal Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Kolkata, has forecast light rain and thundershowers for Kolkata on Friday, June 6. The weather is likely to remain dry thereafter till Tuesday in the capital city. However, the IMD has issued no warning. Similar weather conditions are likely in Howrah and Hooghly districts. Other South Bengal districts will witness rain almost every day. As per the weather body, scattered rains are expected in all districts from North to South Bengal. Apart from this, heat will also intensify during this time. As per IMD, the mercury will rise slightly in the districts of North and South Bengal in the next few days. Temperatures may rise by two to four degrees in the next four days. Maximum and minimum temperature in Kolkata will likely be around 35 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
North Bengal welcomed the monsoon ahead of schedule. Heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms are likely in Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Kalimpong and Cooch Behar from June 6, Friday to June 12, Thursday. There shall be reduced rain activity in Malda, North Dinajpur and South Dinajpur. There will be no significant change in temperature in the districts of North and South Bengal for the next 24 hours.
