As per the Alipore Meteorological Department, the weather conditions will remain like this till Friday, September 19. From Saturday, the weather will become pleasant in South Bengal. According to the weather department, while the low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal does not have a direct impact, a large amount of water vapour is entering South Bengal. This is the reason why South Bengal is experiencing so much rainfall.

Meanwhile, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall (between 7 cm to 20 cm) in Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar till Wednesday. An orange alert has been issued by the weather department in Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar.
