Pune Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain in Pune and neighbouring districts of Maharashtra on September 15, Monday. Intermittent rain lashed the city on Saturday night and Sunday. The weather body has also issued orange alerts for Ratnagiri and Raigad districts and forecast intense showers over the next 24 hours.

IMD has put Pune’s ghat regions on a yellow alert after Chinchwad recorded the heaviest rainfall at 69mm between Saturday morning and Sunday evening, as per a Times of India report.

Maharashtra Weather Forecast

IMD has also placed Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha on a yellow alert till Thursday.

Maharashtra districts including - Ahmednagar, Beed, and Latur have been placed on an orange alert. The weather body has forecast moderate to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in these regions.

Nashik, Jalna, Palghar, and Nagpur have been put on a yellow alert for light rain.

The rain activity is being witnessed as conditions are favourable for Southwest monsoon to begin its withdrawal from parts of Punjab, Gujarat and Rajasthan over coming days.

Mumbai witnessed heavy rain on Monday morning. Parts of Mumbai, especially South-Central areas, have already seen intense rainfall since the early hours, with more showers expected throughout the day.
