Jharkhand Encounter: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jharkhand Police on Monday neutralised three Naxals, including a Central Committee Member of CPI(Maoist) carrying Rs 1 Crore bounty on his head, and also recovered three AK-47 rifles. While providing details, the officials stated that the operation was conducted in Hazaribagh's Gorhar area in the early hours of Monday. Sahdeo Soren, one of the most wanted Naxals, and his two other partners were eliminated in the operation. Jharkhand Police stated that the operation was held based on the inputs from the intelligence.
"In a joint operation, the Central Reserve Police Force and Jharkhand Police have neutralized three Naxals and recovered three AK-47 rifles. Those neutralized in the operation include Sahadev Soren (Central Committee Member having bounty of Rs 1 crore), Raghunath Hembram (Special Area Committee Member and Rs 25 lakh rewardee), and Virsen Ganjhu (Zonal Committee Member and Rs 10 lakh rewardee). The operation was conducted on early Monday in Pantitri forest in Hazaribagh's Gorhar area around 4.20 am," CRPF informed.
Apart from this, Jharkhand Police stated that the operation was conducted in Hazaribagh's Karandi village, adding that it was based on the operation from intelligence. "Sahdeo Soren, a Central Committee Member of CPI(Maoist) carrying Rs 1 Crore on his head, and two other Naxals killed in an encounter with a joint team of CoBRA battalion, Giridih and Hazaribagh Police this morning in village Karandi, PS Tatijharia, district Hazaribagh based on intelligence inputs," Jharkhand Police stated, reported ANI.
