In a shocking incident, a young engineer of the Indian Air Force (IAF) died after he jumped from the 24th floor of a residential apartment building on Sunday.

The police have identified the deceased as 25-year-old Lokesh Pavan Krishna, who was living at the Halasuru military quarters. He had visited his sister Lakshmi’s residence earlier in the day, according to a report by NDTV.

During his visit, his mood got soured and in a fit of anger he went to the Prestige Jindal City Apartments' 24th floor and jumped from the building

He died on the spot after the extreme measure. The local residents alerted the police, who reached the spot immediately and took Lokesh's body into custody.

The body was taken to Nelamangla Public Hospital for postmortem examination. The police have registered a case in the matter and have started the investigation to ascertain the reason behind Lokesh's extreme step and the circumstances surrounding it.

Couple attempts suicide after killing children

Earlier on Friday, a man and his two children were found dead in an alleged killing and suicide case in Gonakanahalli village of Hoskote taluk in Bengaluru Rural district.

The couple killed their children and attempted suicide due to marital issues. While the husband died, the woman survived and was arrested.

The family has been identified as Shivu (32) and his wife Manjula, along with their 11-year-old daughter Chandrakala and 7-year-old son Uday Surya, according to the TOI report.

According to the police, Shivu met with an accident several years ago and would mostly remain at home. He developed suspicion about his wife. Additionally, the family was under heavy financial strain.

The couple was allegedly contemplating suicide for some days, but didn't want to leave their children behind, eventually reaching a dreaded consensus.

On the day of the incident, the couple allegedly consumed alcohol at around 2 pm. By approximately 4 pm, they reportedly strangled their daughter, Chandrakala, and submerged her head in water to ensure she was dead. They then repeated the act with their son, Uday Surya.

After committing the heinous crime, Manjula attempted to hang herself but Shivu asked her get some food from a nearby shop as he was feeling unwell and vomiting. When she returned, she found that Shivu had hanged himself.
