In Gonakanahalli village, Hoskote taluk, Bengaluru Rural district, a man and his two children were found dead on Friday after the couple allegedly attempted suicide along with the children due to marital issues, police said. The wife survived and has been arrested; she is currently in police custody.
The family has been identified as Shivu (32) and his wife Manjula, along with their 11-year-old daughter Chandrakala and 7-year-old son Uday Surya, according to the TOI report.

How The Couple Committed Crime
Police said that the couple, Shivu and his wife Manjula, frequently faced marital problems. Shivu, who had suffered an accident several years ago, largely remained at home and reportedly harbored suspicions about his wife. The family was also under financial strain.
Allegedly, the couple had been contemplating suicide for some time but did not want to leave their children behind, leading them to a tragic decision to end their children's lives first.
On the day of the incident, around 2 pm, the couple allegedly consumed alcohol. By approximately 4 pm, they reportedly strangled their daughter, Chandrakala, and submerged her head in water to ensure she was dead. They then allegedly repeated the act with their son, Uday Surya.
Afterward, Manjula attempted to hang herself, but Shivu, who was feeling unwell and vomiting, asked her to buy food from a nearby shop. When she returned, she found that Shivu had hanged himself.
Before committing the suicide Manjula wanted to speak to her father before. Finding the home phone, used by her husband, locked, she went to a neighbor’s house to make the call. Shocked by what she revealed, the neighbor alerted locals, who rushed to the scene and informed the police.
Manjula was taken into custody and is currently being interrogated, officials said.
